August 5th I held a Junior Detective Workshop in my office at the Elgin Commerce Building. Cliff Nellis, Lead Attorney of the Lawndale Christian Legal Center, Chicago, brought a group of young people to the workshop. The young people (ages 17 - 22) are prepping for a Mock Trial exercise on August 17, 2013.
During the workshop, we discussed the role of investigators in criminal defense investigations. We also talked about the qualities good investigators should possess.
We also practiced locating, identifying and lifting finger prints.
After the classroom portion of the workshop, we relocated to a staged crime-scene and processed the crime scene.
